This top ten list is my personal opinion of which pokemon from generation III look the best or are designed the best. I'll be taking their shiny forms as well as possible mega forms into account when I do this list. Also while this list was suppose to be up on Monday, I got busy and decided to do this today instead. This will be only generation III pokemon and only by design, not how good they are in battle or even what pokemon from this generation are my favorite. Thank you for reading.
WARNING minor plot details as well as a bias list WARNING
An interesting dragon pokemon indeed. With unique wings and a crazy eye pattern, Flygon could have almost been a dragon bug type, but is dragon ground instead which makes his ground attacks stronger but missing out on a really cool looking dragon bug from generation III. The shiny version is pretty decent too, but I prefer his regular form for sure.
Blaziken is awesome. As a fighting pokemon it looks really cool, and with a flare of fire looks amazing. His shiny is just a darker hue, and his mega darker is a lighter hue, but Blaziken is just amazing in general. His mega form is okay, nothing too special, but how could you top that original form? If you were ever going to design a fighting fire pokemon, it would be hard to top this design, and Gamefreak never really have. Still, I prefer other pokemon.
This thing is awesome. Similar to Rhydon, Aggron is a powerful steel pokemon that looks like a former dinosaur. Powerful and huge, this thing just looks awesome, and his mega form is pretty cool too, but his shiny form looks awesome. With a green hue and awesome red eyes, this beast just screams physical power.
A tree gecko is awesome. This thing has leaf blades which is awesome, the tail of this thing is pretty cool, and I love the colors of the creature as well. The shiny looks great as a blue like green color of lizard, and the mega form, with a larger more deadly tail, Sceptile is just awesome. If mega Sceptile doesn't look awesome enough, the blue with red eyes shiny mega Sceptile is just better.
Kingler looks pretty cool with large powerful crab claws. Then there is this beast, which is a larger more powerful version of Kingler at least look wise. While the shiny is just a golden color swap, this thing is just powerful looking which is pretty awesome, though the star is a nice touch and the dark look is pretty cool as well.
What can be said that hasn't been said about this pokemon's design? With a slashing spine on its head and a cool black and white color scheme, it is just a cool design. Oh then the mega form which looks like a fallen or redeemed angelic design which makes Absol way cooler. Then there is the red shiny version which makes him look a bit more demonic or hellhound like. Shiny mega Absol is also pretty awesome.
Because this pokemon wasn't fearsome enough, originally it looked like a large steel monster with powerful legs. Then the mega form makes this thing look like a four armed dozer. This thing just looks like power, more so then even Aggron. Not only that, but it looks like a cool silver hue while it is shiny. Cuz when blue isn't good enough, let's just make this thing look more metal.
My personal overall favorite legendary, Rayquaza has an awesome design. Looking like an overly long dragon, like a futuristic version of a Chinese dragon. If it didn't look cool enough, which it did, its mega form is even better, making it look more dangerous and fierce. Of course, everything is worn better in black and his shiny is no exception. This pokemon was destined for this list when I saw him in Brawl.
This thing is so simple but looks so cool at the same time. With huge claws and a crazy tail, Groudon is just awesome and looks armored as can be, with a magma look in the armor. In his shiny form, his magma like armor looks a lovely shade of gold. if that wasn't cool enough, we have Primal Groudon, a form of Groudon that looks more like magma and looks more legendary then ever before, and the shiny form of that is a darker almost black form as well making Groudon look just totally awesome.
HE HAS FOUR DIFFERENT FORMS how could he not be number 1? There is a reason I want this creature in Smash Bros though I can see why he isn't. A base form, an attack form, a defense form, a speed form, and each one is designed incredibly well with speed probably being the least likable of the bunch for me. Then similar to Groudon, Deoxys as a shiny looks gold. Orange and blue wasn't enough, as yellow and blue make Deoxys seem gold, though it is more yellow, again similar with Groudon. Still, when it comes to design, this pokemon is easily my favorite of the bunch from generation III.
