Notes
This anime will be based on plot, characterization, emotional pull and action, episode and animation quality, and creative elements in the media. This will not be based off of how god or bad any other anime has done, nor will it be compared to anime in general when doing a score, though I may reference another anime to help you, the reader of this review, understand a specific point. Stay Dandy people.
WARNING possible spoilers WARNING also, the review of the first season is here.

Well that picture sums up the plot rather nicely huh? It has been almost a year since I reviewed season 1, and now I'm finally going to take a crack at season 2. The plot is kind of the same as the first season, with Dandy hunting rare aliens and trying to make money in his own way. That being said Dandy's pride often gets the better of him as he will set out to do things and end up doing other tasks often forgetting what he gets paid to do. There are several examples of Season 1 episodes being more for humor and not having a canon ending to them, and while these episodes do get weird, they are nowhere near that level of head tripping. In fact, what happens is that this season explains the endings in the last season and the issues with a canon timeline. Dandy's body is laced with energy and he is the most powerful being in all the multiverse, no matter which version of him you have (because there is a lot). Does it make sense? Kinda which is saying a lot. The idea that this show has any type of working timeline is insane, which is probably part of the show's charm.
This type of show isn't suppose to make sense, but if every episode makes little sense and is crazy for the sake of being crazy, then the craziest thing this type of show could do is to formulate some type of canon timeline where Dandy transcends space and time without knowing it, and making all the randomness and the endings where Dandy dies or is a zombie actually fit into one show by simply opening up a multiverse theory in it. When a show that is suppose to be abstract and insane exists, you eventually don't expect some type of reality in it, so it was a great twist for this show to actually do that, and while I'm hoping there is more to this series, if that was the end in the final episode, then what a ride.

The most normal thing in this anime are the three main characters. Dandy while crazy at times is just a regular person when it comes to his personality. Meow and Q-T are about the same when it comes down to it. The only thing about Dandy is he actually retains some form of memory from his other selves, like the trucker Dandy. It is mind boggling, but it works, and there are several episodes showing that Dandy is probably smarter then given credit for when he discusses what warping actually is. Also we get to see more of Scarlet and Honey in these episodes as they build on characterization as well, Honey is half alien and is also a fan of pro wrestling and biker gear, while Scarlet has a stalker ex and falls for really stupid men just like Dandy. There are also many characters who appear for one entire episode, but are pretty well written in general.

Once again, the humor is excellent and cleverly written, and the action can get good especially towards the end. The issue is that the fate of the characters doesn't really matter. Dandy litterally meets a planet that represents death, and death lets him escape through the multiverse into another body that didn't die from the same incident but was just knocked out. Dandy is literally in no danger, ever, because he transcends even death. I know that is the point, but it makes tension in the anime rather pointless. It is a funny anime, but the more tense moments are less then great.

The episodes on this season are all really well animated and the way they are presented makes sense. Since there is a plot suddenly, most of the episodes from this season work on explaining bits and pieces of the plot in a way to make sense, without spelling it out for you at the same time. Each episode contains enough things and enough of the multiverse plot to be a worth while watch if you are a fan of the series.

Dandy tries to out dance an alien, ends up in a school who's popularity is decided by musical talent (with a jocked out version of E.T. no less), ends up on a planet with a moon full of fish people, gets hired to be someone's boyfriend, meets hundreds of parallel versions of himself, fights an explosion with a Statue of Liberty mech, ends up facing a Majora's Mask parody (unofficially), dies, and gives up being God. If that wasn't creative enough, the designs of some of the characters is pretty great, simple but too the point, while the designs of objects is just splendid. If you like just seeing creative ideas, this is literally the best anime for you, the only thing better in this category is probably season 1. It is incredibly good.

This anime is an insane and crazy ride. The world is mostly abstract and the concept is suppose to transcend time, space, imagination, and plot, but there is actually a plot here which is the craziest thing of all. Plot is actually pretty good too, though about as crazy as the rest of the anime. The art is impressive, the episodes are all worth watching, the characters are great, the action is good when it is there, and the oddball humor is pretty decent as well. any tension of characters dying isn't even there, but outside of that flaw, this anime is really worth a look if you like humor.
Honestly besides someone just not being into oddball or seemingly random humor, this anime is worth a look to most people. If you are looking for less humor and more tense action scenes this isn't the place I'd go first, while the action can be good, it doesn't take long to realize death is practically none existent. If that doesn't bother you then by all means go at it, if it does this may be a problem. I also recommend you see the first season, but you really don't need to for you to enjoy and understand kind of what is going on, as Season 1 really doesn't tell you anything on what is going on at all anyway. Like humor and more artistic designs and concepts, look no further.
