I WAS going to continue my fanfiction of the Smash Bros. game I'd make... but I didn't prepare for it so instead, I'm going to do a short blog about Mewtwo and Mii costumes. Let's begin.
So Mewtwo who appeared in the Smash Bros. series back in Melee and disappeared is now back. Is he worth the wait? Well that depends. Did you like him in Melee? If not, then no it isn't really worth the wait. Mewtwo plays EXACTLY like he did in Melee. Confusion reflects moves which I didn't realize happens and he teleports to do midair dodge, but outside of these there aren't many differences. He also jumps and dodges a bit clumsily much like he did in Melee. There are also no custom moves which stinks but there are a few minor changes to make Mewtwo more balanced and a bit better as a character. His final smash is also totally awesome, turning into Mega Mewtwo Y and shooting a powerful attack which pretty much DESTROYS anything in front of him and goes through walls. His design is pretty cool, and his alternate colors are pretty good including a blue, a black, and a freakin' SHADOW MEWTWO LOOK which is awesome and looks inspired from Shadow Lugia from Pokemon Colosseum XD... though IGN called in Bizarro Mewtwo for some reason. He also gets three new trophies as well, one for beating Classic which is similar to the trophy you can already get (and can still get) and one for beating All Star Mode which is his final smash trophy as well as an alternate color trophy unlocked as soon as he is downloaded. This doesn't affect the Mega Evolutions and the normal Mewtwo trophy.
These aren't the biggest deal unless you like to make Mii characters. The costumes don't really add too much to the Mii characters, just looks to them, but this allows more custom options. There are costumes from X and Protoman, Link, and Dunban which will be the more popular ones, especially since Majora's Mask is now head wear. All the hats work with all the fighting styles but the body suits work only with specific fighting styles. It is cool to be able to look like Link or X but the monkey and the kitten suits are a little odd. The T-Shirts look cool too though so if you get the pack only a few costumes should disappoint.
These aren't bad deals honestly. Mewtwo is an original character and not a clone so 5 bucks isn't bad, and he is slightly better then Melee even though he plays basically the same. If you liked him in Melee go for it, and if not, you may not like him much here either. His final smash is really cool however.
The costumes are a bit more pricey and they don't add much besides cosmetics. If you only like one costume then get it, if you like more then half of them get the pack as it is cheaper. If you REALLY love Majora's Mask or X some of the costumes look awesome on a Mii character, but they aren't a must buy at all. If you have the money, which is ten bucks for the entire set, go for it if you like them, but you don't have to rush for these.
All and all it is decent DLC for Smash Bros, a character and costumes for custom characters, but none of it is really all that impressive at the same time. If it interests you the price isn't all that bad, but it isn't something to rush out and get unless you really liked Mewtwo or love the idea of making more custom mii characters. It is a fair price however so if you are thinking about it, it isn't the worst thing to get.
