This is a personal list of characters I'd love to see in Project X Zone 2 following the announcement of some Nintendo specific characters. There are other characters other then Nintendo characters in the list, but this is following the heels of Lucina and Chrom in the list of playable characters as it is so expect some of that. They'd be weird, but they'd be fun. Give them the Mario & Luigi sprites and you have an awesome tag team up. The issue would be that they aren't exactly a match for most of the other characters in presentation, meaning they aren't characters that fit into the more gritty look of Project X Zone 2, not that there aren't some silly characters like Ace Attorney or Frank West. Nintendo is and unlikely to let these two stomp around zombies and monsters.
Hey Kite is in the game, and Bandai Namco does make all the Naruto games anymore. I'd rather see older Naruto and Sasuke with Sakura as an assist, but that is just me. Highly unlikely to see them, but it would still be kind of cool. Sasuke would bring out his chidori sword while Naruto would use his fox fire and rasengan, and then for an ultimate move they combine into a large samurai armored fox.
I'm getting the silliest ones out of the way first. Sonic and Shadow working together would be awesome, Sonic wind and Chaos Control in a combo would be cool, and super move with seven chaos emeralds would be epic. Throw in Silver as an assist for some cool moves and you got a nice team. Sega is also apart of the game development so why not? The issue is Sonic isn't doing well lately, and he doesn't fit, Shadow fits more then Sonic does. Still a return to glory would help.
Three sacred treasures and a small army for ultimate moves and these two would fit rather nicely into the mix at Project X Zone 2. Both of them know how to fight, and both can pack a punch and maybe giving Pit a limited flight so he can move over obstacles instead of around would work fairly well too.
These two worked together in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 why not Project X Zone 2? These game series are slightly less obscure then Virtua Fighter though they'd be oddball team of two for sure.
Once again, Namco is now making all the Dragon Ball Z games, though I'm certain the copyright would be an issue as it would for Naruto characters. Super Saiyen attacks and unlimited potential, but they probably wouldn't live up to the hype of the characters themselves so it is a hard choice here.
How awesome would this be? Ultimate would have the Arwing and Landmaster, and they'd probably use moves from Smash Bros. If Nintendo allowed more then a Xenoblade and two Fire Emblem characters, Fox and Falco would be the next likely choice for it that is for sure. These two would be a bit odd, but would fit in fine and would be pretty awesome to boot.
I am only posting this here because these guys would fit the bill and be totally awesome, maybe even cooler then Vergil and Dante on a team. Devastating and nearly unbeatable. They are only lower because of Square Enix not actually being involved in Project X Zone 2 at all. The odds of them being in here are slim to none, but wouldn't it just be so satisfying to see them in this game?
Link is a sword fighting master. Shiek is a ninja. Besides them possibly not fitting and Link not having any dialog in a dialog heavy game, this would just be awesome. Highly unlikely but awesome.
This one is actually a lot more likely then any other choice here, and would be awesome. Namco x Capcom had Soul Calibur characters in it, why not Project X Zone series? These two work together now, and Ivy as an assist or Nightmare as a boss fight, and this is just gold. Seriously, some Soul Calibur characters would be awesome.
