This is a quick blog about the DLC content of a video game. I don't review it like I would the actual game since normally the DLC doesn't change too much of the game. If you'd like my original review, click here. This is also a bit short as I'm pressed for time.
WARNING possible spoilers WARNING
There are first off a few side quests in the main story that gets you a new sword as well as a few new boating missions that are just like the last few. There are also a few outfits unlocked but they aren’t absurdly great in design or anything. What the main draw is, is the Tyranny of King George which is an alternate timeline showing of George Washington gaining an Apple of Eden, using it as a mace like weapon called the Scepter, and taking over the country as a king and a horrid monarch almost worse then what Britain was doing to the colonies. Connor with his original memories intact ends up rebelling against George. Meeting characters like Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, characters Connor didn’t interact with much during the main story. Also Connor’s mother is alive again as well. It is an interesting story and a twist on history, and it adds a few new gameplay mechanics. First off, each episode adds a new animal power, the power of the wolf, eagle, and bear, all of which are insanely fun. There is also a new mechanic with dogs which is an absolute pain in the ass. You have to bait them, and this can get annoying with the way you equip powers as it is easy to turn them off on accident while throwing bait. This only is an issue if you can’t be caught, which is rare excluding the 100% synch missions which once again suck. There are also treasure chests which are okay, people to help which is fun sometimes but not as rewarding, 100% synch which is not rewarding at all. There are also points for Connor to access his previous memories with his previous life as an assassin which show some signs of what exactly happened and how Connor is in the new timeline. The main storyline isn’t bad, nothing is hard unless trying to 100% it, and the final boss fight with King George was very rewarding. There is also a game breaking glitch in the first episode causing you to not be able to complete the final mission which sucks if you hit it.
So is this DLC worth it? Kind of. If you like the game, or if you are a history buff, I recommend taking a look into the DLC of this game, as fighting King George was really fun, and it is an interesting take on what could have happened. Also you get to climb a giant grizzly bear and gain super powers. There aren’t a huge amount of rewards excluding story and super powers for Connor, but it is still a fun take on history and worth a look into it. I do highly recommend checking it out, if the bugs in the game didn’t kill everything about this game for you.
