Slow week. I should be doing a review of Supernatural Season 1 soon, most likely on Friday. Outside of that nothing going on, found our copy of Thor so expect a review soon, and we are searching for our copy of Twilight Princess but I don't know where it is. Yeah nothing much outside of that. Here are links to the previous blogs in this series in case you've missed them.
WARNING possible spoilers WARNING
While not a poison user, he is based on a drum of toxic chemicals. How does he attack? By trying to slam down on you and spilling out enemies. Weird, and not really high on the poison scale, but eh he is cool in design. His fight however while it can be entertaining, it is pretty easy as you are fighting enemies you are very use to except the terrain isn't difficult, and you get to dodge Dumb Drum. Yeah moving on.
Remember this character? She is actually pretty easy to fight especially if you are using the Peony beam katana. She isn't really cool in design or all that fun, but she does use poison more then Dumb Drum which puts her a little higher on my list. Oh also while you break into a prison to find her, her personality is more or less a knock off of Poison Ivy. Oh well.
As soon as I find this game you should all expect a review about it. Until then, let me talk about Diababa, a poisonous plant that you fight in your first boss battle in the game. It is a large plant monster expected to come out of the Twilight Realm, and also sits and baths in poison. It is a decent boss fight, nothing to write home about but can be fairly fun none the less.
If there was a Star Fox boss fight to go into the Water section, I wouldn't put this guy in there. He is sitting on the ocean floor yes, but he is creating toxic waste in the ocean making it dark even in broad daylight. (FYI it would be the Pirate Captain from the next stage if I did add a water based boss battle from this series) Bacoon is a giant clam who as far as giant clams go is well designed and fun to fight honestly. You have to shoot the top parts of his shell off until he opens up, then you have to shoot the muscles he has until you blow the top part of his shell off, then you blow up his eye until he is dead. It is a well designed boss fight.
The only reason Koga is here in this list isn't because of his gym battle. No that was too easy, he is here because of Pokemon Silver. I beat Pokemon Silver and Koga is part of the Elite Four in this generation. In his elite four battle, Koga is far more of a threat then when he was a gym leader, however with a good psychic type, he is still easy compared to some of the other elite four members which puts him lower on the list. Another reason he is here is because he is a ninja in design which is cool but doesn't go anywhere.
With fights like Firefly, Slade, Deadshot, and Copperhead, I'm not sure why people complain so much about this game. Copperhead's fight starts out with her jumping the hell out of nowhere and you trying to block as Batman. She manages to poison you however and then you have to move on while waiting for an antidote to the poison, as you were already analyzing it. Yes, Scarecrow is a bit better, but I hardly consider him a boss battle, so we have Copperhead instead, mainly due to you hallucinating on her poison so when you fight her it looks like there are multiples of her which makes the fight tricky until you get the antidote. Surviving is not easy especially in harder modes, but that makes the boss fight very satisfying indeed.
Yes, this creature is part poison part dragon and I'm using him here. Fighting for his sister, Gloomtail is a poison breathing dragon in the Paper Mario universe. This dragon can be pretty difficult if you are a lower level, but if you use your partners correctly and dodge his poison breath, he isn't that difficult to deal with in the long run. Still like most dragons, Gloomtail has a cool design and a great place in the story as he is connected personally to the story along with his sister and brother. He is both a cool boss fight and an excellent character.
While not using poisonous attacks he is created through radio active chemicals in a Vault, so he is based off poison, and he is a really cool boss fight. Oddly there are about five of them, but only one that you need to actually fight in the story. There is one you may accidentally find, one in the White House, one imprisoned, one in the main story, and another one you may accidentally run into. I've killed them all. All but one are packing a fire hydrant as a mace and believe me it isn't fun to get hit by one. No matter what your level, these monsters are tough to take down as they have large amounts of health, and they are incredibly strong meaning you have to take them out from a distance and you most likely aren't going to beat it with a sword and by walking up to it. Each one is a difficult but really cool boss fight, and taking them down nets you money and chemicals. Also when you take one down you feel accomplished, when you kill all five you have bragging rights.
I LOVE this boss fight. Scorpion from the future is a well designed beast, and fighting him in the game is just so fun once you get the hang of it. There is a certain way to fight him, and it took me forever to learn the way at first, but after learning it, I had a lot of fun with this creature. The best part is unlike a lot of villains, he is bigger then you but not Electro or Sand Man bigger. He also sprays acid which is kind of cool as well. Like most of the Shattered Dimension levels you are chasing down the main boss you will fight in that level, and Scorpion has one of the best build ups to the final encounter. Yeah, you fight him twice, and while the first time was probably cooler, the second time is no slouch either.
Well if there was ever going to be a Mario boss in a poison list, the boss HAS to be from Super Mario Sunshine. Eely Mouth is a crazy boss fight. See, you spent two levels trying to figure out what is making the waters of Noki Bay toxic, and you end up fighting Monty Mole and Gooper Blooper thinking they were the cause, but Gooper Blooper had little to do with it, and Monty Mole was only blocking up the water fall. It is Eely Mouth that is the issue, however Eely Mouth isn't doing it on purpose, his teeth are just so bad that the decay from them not only poisoned Noki Bay, but caused Eely Mouth to mutate and have four eyes. When you finally do fix his teeth, two of his eyes disappear, the poison is removed, and his golden tooth turns into a Shine Sprite. The lead up to this fight is pretty cool, the design of Eely Mouth is crazy, the fight with his tooth decay is crazy but fun and challenging, and Eely Mouth's personality which is shown by giving you a heart shaped line of coins for your teeth work is encouraging. Not everyone in the Mario world is trying to kill you or working for Bowser, sometimes their teeth just hurt.
